Because of those who support us in our fight against pain, the HOSPICE team – doctors, nurses, psychologists and therapists – visit children and adults suffering from an incurable illness in their homes, offering them the specialized support that both they and their families need.
Hospitalization in HOSPICE Centres
Every donation helps us care for those who receive HOSPICE hospitalization. This happens when the patient requires permanent surveillance and the family needs some quiet and support in order to regain the strength to go forward.
Assistance Without Hospitalization
The evolution of the patient’s condition is closely monitored by our specialists who offer consultations in the out-patient units. This sets the next steps in treatment and also gives the patients cared by the foundation a complete team that helps them improve their quality of life.
Counselling And Creative-Recreational Activities
In HOSPICE day centres, children and adults discover new passions, get involved in creative activities – paint, learn or listen to music, act in theatre plays, create handmade objects and spend time together making new friends.
Physiotherapy Treatment
Regular activities like walking or basic movements can become a challenge when a human being is confronted with an incurable illness. This is why we provide the care and therapy in accordance with the condition and needs of each patient.
Pshycho-emotional counselling
An incurable illness has a powerful impact not only on the body, but on the mind as well. It emotionally affects not only the diagnosed one, but also those who are close to him. The HOSPICE psychologists come to help the patient and its family through therapy, by offering hope and support in difficult moments of uncertainty.
Extended Social Services
We offer social counselling and help patients and their families obtain their rights and state aids specific to each situation. We are near them in all the stages of this process. We form support groups and organize activities – meetings, celebrations, day trips, mountain and seaside camps – destined to both patients and their families.
Specialized Consultations
We collaborate with doctors from the partner hospitals and offer them information and advice in order to integrate palliative care in the current patient treatment. We instruct specialists in palliative care – doctors, nurses, etc from all the country, as well as students from medical universities.
Spiritual counseling
We respect the religion, beliefs and values of each patient. We work closely with clergy representatives from different confessions and organize spiritual counselling sessions, opened to any of the HOSPICE patients that want to attend.
Online assistance
We inform, guide and counsel those who suffer from an incurable illness and their families regarding hygiene, nutrition, medication, etc. One of the platforms we offer to those who are interested is www.infopaliatie.ro

SERVICES

The HOSPICE services are addressed to the adults suffering from oncological diagnostics and children with severe conditions (congenital malformations, neuro-muscular dystrophies, etc). The support of the organization is also given to the families of the HOSPICE patients and is adapted to each situation.

HOSPICE BENEFICIARIES

After being taken into HOSPICE care, the multidisciplinary team of the organization evaluates the patient condition and understands the current palliative care needs. Afterwards, the HOSPICE team decides the direction of the patient towards adequate HOSPICE services:

  • Hospitalization in the HOSPICE units;
  • Out-patient unit consultations (assistance without hospitalization);
  • Specialized interventions in day centres (social, psycho-emotional and spiritual counselling, individualized physiotherapy programmes, creative-recreational activities).

HOSPICE BENEFICIARIES

HOSPICE services are offered to the patients that can move and to those hospitalized in our in-patient unit. We organize recreational activities that allow the patients to socialize, relax in a pleasant atmosphere or to use art in a creative way, as a communication instrument in order to overcome the emotional and spiritual problems connected to the illness.

  • Service for mammary prosthesis and lymphedema;
  • Stoma care
  • Medical gymnastics
  • Motricity exercises – games
  • The construction of personalized exercise packages
  • Multisensorial stimulation
  • The usage of adhesive bands for maintaining the muscular and articular tonus;
  • Education of the family in order for it to help the patients with their exercise at home.

PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELLING:

Psycho-emotional counselling and support:

  • Individual psychotherapy;
  • Support groups.

SPIRITUAL COUNSELLING:

Individual spiritual counselling for the patients and families

  • Biblical group study
  • Occasional religious programmes

SOCIAL ASSISTANCE

  • Offers information and support for accessing and obtaining patient social rights
  • Ensures the relationship with other social service providers (NGOs, foundations and associations, DGASPC, district city halls) that answer the identified needs;
  • Offers counselling and emotional support to the family during the bereavement period.

BEAUTY CENTRE

  • Manicure activities without cleaning the cuticles, make-up and hair styling
  • Counselling regarding wearing the wig – on demand

This service has the purpose to increase self-esteem.
