HOSPICE Volunteers

At HOSPICE Casa Speranţei we will appreciate your help because we know that it starts from your heart. With all your actions you will improve the condition of those who need palliative care. We know that you will feel more motivated than you usually are, because you are helping an ill patient an essential human quality: dignity. In return, you will receive a wider understanding over human nature and charity, as well as relevant experience, by being involved in fundraising campaigns or participating in day centre activities for the Social and Administration departments, or by helping the reception desk or kitchen.

Over 400 volunteers are involved annually in HOSPICE Casa Speranţei activities in Bucharest, Braşov, Făgăraş and Zărneşti, offering a total of 18.000 hours of volunteering for the children and adults suffering from incurable illnesses, as well as for their families.

ADULT AND CHILDREN DAY CENTRES

In the day centres you can assist in the serving of meals to the patients, you can help those who cannot move, you can keep them company, take part together with them in different activities, you will read to them from newspapers, books or magazines.

SOCIAL DEPARTMENT

Here you will help in writing and operating the computer, translating from or into English, distributing food and other material goods, as well as organizing different events (celebrations, camps, support groups, recreational activities for children).

FUNDRAISING DEPARTMENT

If you are interested in fundraising, you will be able to help the HOSPICE booths during holidays such as Christmas or Easter, as well as help the team during charity events.

ADMINISTRATIVE DEPARTMENT

If you want to assist the colleagues from the administrative department, then you must know that you will be able to sort donations, work on PC and making copies to documents or administrative papers, transport the people cared by HOSPICE with your own car or even gardening or cleaning snow.

RECEPTION DESK

We need you when the reception staff is unavailable, from one reason or another. You will take care of receiving patients, mails and messages for the staff, you will receive and guide visitors.

KITCHEN

In the kitchen you will be able to wash and disinfect dishes and assist in cooking the meals. For all of this, you are required to provide a full set of recent medical tests.
